Portuguese police are investigating whether negligent homicide has occurred in connection with the Lisbon funicular.

Pending further investigation, the Portuguese Judicial Police are currently investigating whether criminal liability could exist for involuntary or negligent homicide if the appropriate inspections were not carried out on the Gloria funicular, which suffered the accident on Wednesday.
