The Fringe Festival fills Torroella de Montgrí with young musical talent for three days.

The event aims to be a professionalization laboratory for emerging artists that promotes quality, innovation, sustainability, and connection with the territory.

GironaThe Fringe Festival will fill Torroella de Montgrí with promising young musicians. For three days, from July 18th to 20th, they will showcase their artistic offerings to the public while also mingling and sharing experiences with other musicians, cultural managers, programmers, music journalists, and professionals from the entertainment world. In its twelfth edition, the festival will offer a total of 18 concerts of classical, early music, jazz, and roots music, with the participation of some seventy artists. All concerts are free and will take place in different venues throughout the town: Plaza de la Vila, the Petit Cinema, La Sala, the Espai Ter auditorium, and the headquarters of the Vila Casas and Mascort foundations.

Created as an integrated event within the Torroella Music Festival, Fringe demonstrates the organizing body's desire to work for the musical training of young people and to promote and provide opportunities for those who demonstrate talent and enthusiasm. "It's a professionalization laboratory that promotes young talent, quality, uniqueness, innovation, sustainability, and connection to the region," says Tania Hirte, Fringe coordinator.

Hirte adds that for many of the participating musicians, the Fringe is their first contact with the professional circuit, with real stages and demanding audiences: "It's a springboard. But it's also a space for meeting and collective learning. Over the years, many former participants have gone on to outstanding careers and remain connected to us in some way." New talents in early music

As usual, the Torroella Fringe will coexist with the EEEmerging musical residencies, a large-scale European cooperation project that promotes the emergence of new talents in early music and of which the Torroella de Montgrí Festival has been a part since 2018. This summer three assemblies, Sadler & Conrad, The Banshies, and La Mandorle will be participating in residencies from July 14th to 21st. During the residencies, the three groups will prepare a concert program to perform as part of the Fringe festival.
