16,000 evacuated by fire in Castellón while Madrid fire continues out of control
The weather conditions have allowed the extinction tasks to advance during Sunday morning
BarcelonaAuthorities have evacuated nearly a thousand residents from the Texas neighborhood of La Vall d'Uixó, in the Castellón region of La Plana Baixa, preventively this morning due to the evolution of the fire declared this Saturday in the Espadà mountain range, bringing the official number of people evacuated due to this fire in fifteen municipalities to over 16,000.
According to the mayor of La Vall, Tania Baños, in several videos on X, facing a "totally uncontrolled fire," the Advanced Command Post has decided to continue evacuating residents from this town, in this last case those from La Colònia de Sant Antoni, more commonly known as Texas. Similarly, Baños has indicated that all evacuees will be transferred to "areas where they can remain in total safety".
The mayor insisted that citizens "please heed" the instructions transmitted from official channels to emergency services regarding a fire with a perimeter of more than 21 kilometers and which is still "out of control".

100,000 affected in Madrid
Regarding the fires ravaging the Iberian peninsula, this Sunday they had already affected about 100,000 people in Madrid and Ávila, including evacuated and confined individuals, and where more than 45,000 hectares have burned. The delegation of the Spanish government in Madrid has reported that at dawn this Sunday, the fire affecting the western mountain range of the province remains active and unstable.
The delegation assures through social networks that the decrease in the advance of the fire during the early morning has allowed the operation to act on the different fronts and reinforce the control lines, with absolute priority on the protection of the population and threatened urban areas, but despite this the fire is not yet controlled.

Regarding the day, the forecast is that the meteorological conditions for tackling the flames will be marked by high temperatures, low humidity, and uncertainty about the wind's evolution, a factor that will continue to condition the extinction efforts. The delegation of the central executive also reports that all available means, state, regional, and international, remain deployed, working in a coordinated manner to continue advancing in containing the fire.
