Wallbox cuts losses in 2025 but reduces revenue
The electric charger company closes a year marked by capital injections
BarcelonaWallbox, a Catalan manufacturer of electric vehicle chargers, closed 2025 with losses, in line with the results obtained in previous years, but reduced them by 32% to €103 million. This reduction contrasts with a drop in revenue, which fell from €163.9 million in 2024 to €145.1 million this year.
The company, one of the five unicorns Catalans – a condition given to a startup with a valuation exceeding €1 billion – thus concludes a year marked by capital injections and debt renegotiation. For its CEO and co-founder, Enric Asunción, it has been a year of "transformation." Regarding the drop in revenue, the CEO stated that it "reflects more demanding market conditions" and highlighted the improvement in adjusted EBITDA, the strengthening of the gross margin, and the optimization of working capital, according to a company statement released this Wednesday. Europe was the group's main market throughout the year, and North America was the region with the highest year-on-year growth. State investment and debt renegotiation
This year, the company has also seen a capital boost: while in February Iberdrola, the Orilla fund, and Wallbox CEO Enric Asunción strengthened their shareholding with a $10 million investment, in June the company welcomed a new shareholder. The Spanish government, through the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT), invested $9.5 million.
To round it off, at the end of the year, Wallbox agreed to refinance €170 million in debt until 2030, as well as a capital injection of €22.5 millionwith the aim of extending the repayment of liabilities and distributing the risk among different entities.
The company recorded revenues of €33.7 million in the fourth quarter of last year, a figure slightly lower than the €35.5 million of the third quarter. The technology company forecasts similar revenues, within the range of €33 to €36 million, for the first quarter of this year.
