BarcelonaGrifols earned 227 million euros in the first half of this year, 28.2% more than in the same period of the previous fiscal year. The Catalan multinational of plasma-derived medicines attributes the improvement, in large part, to the evolution of its biopharma division, its main source of income. According to the results published this Tuesday to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), the turnover of this area reached 3,148 million euros by June, 5.4% more year-on-year at constant exchange rates.

In the same vein, the group's global revenue increased to 3,574 million euros, 2.6% more at constant exchange rates. The presentation of the results, at the same time, comes in a context marked by the consolidation of the new structure of the company, with two clearly differentiated organizations to strengthen the operational and financial independence of the subsidiaries: one for the biopharma business in the United States, and the other for the rest of the world.

According to the company's CEO, Nacho Abia, the first-half results are a testament to the "continued strength of the business" and the "disciplined execution" of the group's strategy.
