Catalonia extends the Moves III program, which ends this Wednesday.

The €73.5 million increase will allow the requests on the waiting list to be met.

BarcelonaThe Catalan government, through the Catalan Energy Institute (Icaen), has increased the budget by 73.5 million euros – it was initially 62 million. Moves III program of 2025, aimed at promoting the purchase of electric vehicles and the installation of charging points. This Moves III program will end this Wednesday, December 31st.

The increased allocation will allow to process all applications received so far that were on the waiting list The initial allocation has been exceeded, as reported this Monday in a statement by the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition. The line of credit for vehicle purchases, initially allocated €34.3 million, has received a total of 19,824 applications for aid worth €95.5 million. All applications received that were on the waiting list due to the budget being exhausted can be processed with this increase, provided they meet the established requirements. To date, 6,209 applications have been granted, totaling €29.5 million, and payments will be made as supporting documentation is received.

Regarding the line of funding allocated to subsidize the installation of charging points, with a budget of 25 million euros, 9,133 applications have been received, totaling 26 million euros. Applications on the waiting list can be processed using the remaining budget from the expansion of the electric vehicle line of funding. To date, the Moves III program in Catalonia has contributed to the acquisition of 35,250 vehicles and the installation of 23,800 charging points, mobilizing an investment of over 900 million euros. The 2025 edition of the program anticipates subsidies of between 700 and 9,900 euros for the purchase of alternative propulsion vehicles (electric, plug-in hybrid, or fuel cell) and subsidies of between 20% and 80% for the installation of charging points. This action is part of the Electric Vehicle Promotion Plan 2025-2030With this, the Government plans to mobilize 1.4 billion euros to achieve 180,000 new registrations of electrified vehicles, and the creation of 9,000 new points of 470,000 tons.
