BarcelonaBarcelona Global has launched an initiative to make the metropolitan area an international benchmark in the fight against climate change. This Chapter Climate was held this Tuesday with a meeting that brought together around 100 business leaders and executives from different sectors, with the aim of activating a shared agenda and exchanging good practices between companies and institutions in the field of sustainability.

The project promotes "the detection, exchange, and scaling of best practices developed by the metropolitan area's companies and institutions to provide a joint response to major climate challenges and accelerate the transition towards a more sustainable, livable, competitive, and resilient Barcelona," according to the organization, made up of two leading businesses, universities, and cultural institutions in the city, and more than 1,020 professionals.

Agenjo stated that "climate leadership is no longer an option, it is a competitive advantage" and added that this initiative will mobilize "business talent and knowledge of the city to accelerate real and measurable solutions that bring about change." For her part, Mercè Conesa stressed that "it is the companies that must apply the emission reduction coefficients set by the administrations" and that, therefore, the Climate Chapter is "an opportunity to share knowledge and highlight practices" that improve the quality of life and attract investment and talent." ~BK_SLT work: industrial infrastructure (pharmacy, food and retail); mobility infrastructure (airport, rail, logistics, maritime, and road infrastructure); building and construction infrastructure (economic activity, public space, housing, residential and office spaces); and services infrastructure (sports clubs, unique buildings, recreational activities, culture, and tourism).
