Alsina Group absorbs its subsidiary Alisan and plans acquisitions in Europe

BarcelonaThe Alsina Group, through its parent company, Encofrados J. Alsina SA, has carried out a merger by absorption of its subsidiary Servicio de Encofrados Alisan SA, which specializes in providing services in various areas of Spain. With this operation, the family company dedicated to the design, manufacture, sale, and rental of formwork systems and solutions for concrete structures, streamlines its structure and gains efficiency with the goal of reaching 250 million euros in turnover by 2032, as planned. Last year, its turnover was 152 million, with an increase of 22% compared to the previous financial year.

The group's executive vice president, Jaume Alsina, asserts that this operation will allow them to focus on growth. With a presence in 17 countries and 3,000 projects underway, today two-thirds of Alsina's business already comes from abroad. However, one of the objectives is "to be leaders in Spain in a couple of years, in addition to continuing to grow internationally," according to Alsina. In fact, in the European sphere, they are considering growing "with the acquisition of a company."

After the corporate operation, the group will consolidate Alisan's accounts into its balance sheet. The original business of the Alsina Group is the rental of material and solutions for formwork (the equipment that supports concrete structures during the construction process), but it is increasingly billing more for the provision of high value-added services.

The company has registered more than 140 patents throughout its history. "We provide knowledge and technique to the construction sector," states Alsina. Thanks to the calculation capacity of its engineers and its technological advances, the Alsina Group allows for shortening construction deadlines and gaining productivity, always with maximum safety standards as a banner, the group explains.

Thanks to all this, "Alsina is participating in more and more iconic projects." Among many others, the company has participated in the Sagrada Família (it devised the construction system for the Virgin Mary tower, which supports the famous star of the basilica), in the construction of large bridges (it has participated in the construction of the largest bridge in the Philippines, between Cebu and Cordova), or hydraulic infrastructures (it is creating the new Palma II treatment plant, the largest in the history of the Balearic Islands, which will have the capacity to treat the wastewater generated by one million people).

Alsina is a family business with more than 1,200 employees that is currently between the second and third generation. At the head of the company are Jaume Alsina, vice president, and Josep David Alsina, chief executive officer.
