BarcelonaManolo García and Quimi Portet shared the same stage again yesterday in Fuengirola, as reported by the Efe agency. Ten years after the On Saturday, 18,500 people filled the Maresnostrum Fuengirola and received the group with a standing ovation. As reported by the Efe agency, the celebratory atmosphere was constant during the more than two hours of performance. The concert began with two songs by Los Burros: Huesos

and Conflicto armado, linked by García's anti-war call ("no to war, yes to peace"). In line with an anti-militarist tone, more countercultural than ever today, they performed Querida Milagros, one of Portet's best compositions, the desperate letter of "soldier Adrián".

El segundo disco de El Último de la Fila, Enemigos de lo ajeno (1986), was the most represented in the repertoire, with seven songs, including two very special ones: Aviones plateados, the song with lyrics by Manolo García that Quimi Portet likes the most; and No me acostumbro, the song by Portet that García likes the most. Both synthesize the best of El Último de la Fila of the eighties: pop melodies, electric force, arrangements between flamenco and Arabic, and verses of love and longing in which the background landscape is the everyday life of the working class.

As Efe details, the rest of the albums also provided great moments in live performances, such as Lapiz y tinta, from the album Astronomía razonable (1993); Llanto de pasión, from Como la cabeza al sombrero (1988); and Dulces sueños, one of the best songs from Cuando la pobreza entra por la puerta, el amor salta por la ventana (1985); in fact, one of the best songs in history, an emotional portrait of the consternation and frustration of a youth without a future, with Quimi Portet sprinkling it with riffs full of imagination. In Fuengirola, Dulces sueños was played towards the end and just before the encores, the space that is only reserved for great songs.

For the encore, they reserved other very popular pieces, such as Como un burro amarrado en la puerta del baile and Insurrección. "We are delighted to be here. Furthermore, your energy is noticeable. Thank you very much," said Manolo García. He thought that the same energy will be found in the 55,000 people who will fill the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on May 3 (and the 7th), and also in the rest of a tour that will pass through Roquetas de Mar, Madrid, Bilbao, Santiago de Compostela, Avilés, Seville, and Valencia.
