Morad claims that the police have stopped him ten times in one month: "I feel persecuted"

The artist is now free after being arrested for violating a restraining order against his stepfather.

BarcelonaRapper Morad was arrested early Thursday morning in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat for violating a restraining order that prohibits him from approaching his stepfather. According to ARA, the artist's stepfather saw Morad's car near a room he was renting and called the local police. Officers arrested the rapper, who spent the night in jail and was released after appearing before a judge. The restraining order against the stepfather—the father of the rapper's siblings—was issued after an argument between the two. Defense sources explain that the stepfather allegedly assaulted Morad's mother, and Morad confronted him about it. The stepfather filed a complaint against him for threats, which led to the restraining order, issued on October 27 and still in effect.

Sources close to the rapper's defense maintain—and he has stated this before the judge—that he was unaware his stepfather had a room rented in that part of L'Hospitalet. They add that it's an area the rapper frequents, as it's where he usually films the vast majority of his music videos. Now, Morad's lawyer has requested verification of whether he exactly exceeded the 500-meter distance threshold established by the court order and also confirmation that his stepfather had that room rented. Despite this, Morad told the judge that he feels "persecuted" by the Hospitalet Municipal Police because he has been arrested ten times in one month.
