Julio Iglesias says he is preparing his defense and that "everything will be cleared up"

The magazine 'Hola' includes the singer's first public statements following the sexual assault allegations

According to the magazine, Iglesias "wants to get to the bottom of the matter and leave no doubt about the true circumstances of what happened and the real account of the events." The publication has also spoken with people close to the artist, who, in private statements, "completely deny the allegations."

Following the report published on Tuesday, the National Court Prosecutor's Office is investigating Iglesias for three crimes: human trafficking for the purpose of forced labor and servitude; harassment and sexual assault with aggravating circumstances of injury; and a crime against workers' rights. The investigation stems from two complaints filed by two former domestic workers at Iglesias's mansions in Punta Cana and the Bahamas regarding incidents that occurred in 2021. For now, the Prosecutor's Office has decided to take statements from both women as protected witnesses; they are legally represented by the international human rights organization Women's Link.
