Artist Gustavo Torner dies at 100

Gustavo Torner, a prominent exponent of Spanish abstract art, died this Saturday in Cuenca, the city where he was born 100 years ago. Together with Fernando Zóbel, he founded the Cuenca Museum of Spanish Abstract Art. The Reina Sofía Museum dedicated a major retrospective exhibition to Torner in 1991.
