Spanish government gives green light to controversial Valencia port extension

Puertos del Estado has given the green light to the expansion of the port of Valencia, considering that the environmental impact statement approved in 2007 is not out of date. Opposing parties and neighbourhood groups say it will "trigger pollution" and aggravate the situation of the coastline.
