Google to pay $76 million to close a copyright dispute with several French media outlets

Through the Digital News Initiative, Google is committed to creating a fund of 150 million euros for innovative digital projects.

Google has agreed to pay a total of $76 million (about 62.6 million euros) over three years to the Alliance de la Presse d'Information Générale (APIG) to close a copyright dispute. Le Monde, for example, will receive 1 million euros per year.
