Windy night and a calmer Tuesday, but a new and strong wind is on the horizon.

The wind will ease on Tuesday but won't disappear, and it could pick up again strongly on Thursday.

BarcelonaThe wind, blowing from the west to northwest, has returned strongly today in many regions, especially in the central and southern parts of the country and its far reaches. Notable gusts include 102 km/h in Portbou (Alt Empordà), 96 km/h in Montserrat, 91 km/h in Espot (at an altitude of 2,519 m in Pallars Sobirà), and 82 km/h in El Perelló (Baix Ebre). Tonight, strong winds will persist in these areas and will intensify considerably at higher elevations in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, as well as in northern Empordà. Starting Tuesday, the wind will temporarily subside, but will not disappear entirely. A new episode of strong winds is expected between Wednesday night and especially Thursday. This will affect many regions, particularly those in Barcelona, Tarragona, and Lleida. This week, low-pressure systems will circulate at slightly more northerly latitudes than ours, meaning we won't have any significant rainfall events in the medium term. However, these low-pressure systems will continue to send some weakened fronts that will maintain these windy conditions in our country, especially from the west and northwest.
