The thermometer climbs again, but there's a change of weather on the horizon
The warm peak will be reached on Wednesday and then a change will lower the thermometer and leave precipitation
BarcelonaThe weekend has been marked by quiet mornings and unstable afternoons, with locally intense showers and thunderstorms that in some cases have left more than 50 or 60 mm. Good news after a very dry July and early August in a large part of the territory. The temperature has also relaxed practically everywhere, although intense heat has been maintained on the coast. Next week will begin with increasingly intense heat, but from the middle of the week a change in weather will arrive that will lower the temperature and leave more widespread precipitation.
Monday: mercury rising
The week will begin with much calmer weather, with many more sunny spells practically everywhere. The exception will be found in parts of the coast, where during the morning there will be some intervals of low clouds. Elsewhere, very calm weather, although in the afternoon showers will repeat in the northeast of the country, less extensive and intense than in previous days. The temperature will rise, especially in Ponent, Empordà and the southern coast, while it could drop slightly on the central coast and pre-coast.
Tuesday: even more intense heat
The mercury will continue to rise towards Tuesday, when the heat will be even more intense practically everywhere and tropical nights will be more present again inland. The dominance of the sun will be maintained, with some harmless cloud intervals and afternoon showers that will be insignificant or non-existent, a small respite before the downpours on Wednesday afternoon.
Possible change of weather from Wednesday
The approach of a cold air trough at high altitude will cause atmospheric instability to gain ground during Wednesday afternoon, with the first showers in the north of the country. For Thursday and Friday, the rain could affect a large part of the country, with locally intense storms that could also reach the coast. In addition, the temperature will drop notably and the atmosphere will be normal for the time of year.
