The meteorological summer will end with a new change in the weather.
The temperature could rise a little this Sunday.

BarcelonaThe weekend started calmly and steadily, with the sun taking center stage and a mild midday breeze. But things are set to change on Sunday, with the approach of a front, coupled with a cold air channel aloft, triggering convection during the second half of the day. Showers and thunderstorms will add to the already high water mark this week, which has already reached over 50-100 l/m² in some locations (you'll find updated data at the end of this report).
Sunday: new weather change
A very deep low pressure system located in the Atlantic will bring a new frontal system. The weather will be calm and clear along the coast for the first part of the day, but thin clouds will increase by mid-morning, and the western part will be quite overcast. In fact, the first showers will fall from midday in the Lleida regions and the Franja region, with some thunderstorms in the Pre-Pyrenees and the westernmost Pyrenees. During the night, showers will reach central Catalonia, on the pre-coastal area, and during the early hours of Monday, rain will eventually occur in some areas, which could also bring some thunderstorms to the coast.

The Catalan Meteorological Service maintains a warning of intense rainfall for Sunday afternoon and evening, covering some regions of Ponent, Terra Alta, the western Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, and the eastern Pyrenees. On Monday, the warnings will affect the regions of Barcelona and inland Girona.
Monday: Showers will move to the eastern half
The week, and therefore meteorological autumn, will begin with a notable drop in temperature and with traces of instability in the eastern half. Rain could be heaviest in the Barcelona and Girona regions during the early morning and early morning, with much more stable weather in the western and southern half, where the mistral gust will help clear the skies of clouds. Showers should be monitored because some intense downpours could occur locally, with a line of thunderstorms crossing many regions from west to east during the early morning.
