A placid weekend, awaiting midsummer heat.
Temperatures will rise, and next week they will reach their peak.

BarcelonaThis weekend's weather is generally expected to be quite calm, with few variations. Sunshine will dominate most regions, with only afternoon clouds growing in mountainous areas. These could leave a few showers in the northeast on Saturday, and showers and thunderstorms in the Pyrenees on Sunday. This Friday's afternoon showers have already been very limited, with only 5 l/m² of rainfall in Artés (Bages) and 2 l/m² in Terrassa (Vallès Occidental) standing out. Temperatures will rise even further, with a warm atmosphere in the middle of the day. But be careful, because next week the anticyclone will settle over our house and thermometers will soar. We are on the verge of the first days of full summer heat.
Saturday: calm with few nuances
Sunshine and calm will dominate the first day of the weekend, with minor nuances. There will be some harmless low cloud patches on the Barcelona coast and pre-coastline, while in the afternoon, dark clouds will gather in mountainous areas of the northern half of the country, leaving at most a few light, scattered showers or sprinkles in the northeast inland and the eastern Pyrenees.
In addition, there will be some decorative, high, thin cloud patches. The Tramontana wind will remain moderate all day in the Empordà region, and the Mistral wind will blow across the Ebro until midday. Sunshine and calm will also return to the south of the Valencian Community, where rain and cloud cover have been the main features in recent hours, with some records of over 30 or 40 l/m² and a few intense thunderstorms.
Temperatures will rise slightly further, and after the morning coolness, the weather will be warm and short-lived in the middle of the day. Many highs will be between 22°C and 28°C, but around 30°C in the West and inland areas of the Ebro and Valencian Regions. The rise in temperatures will be especially significant in the inland regions of Valencia and Alicante.
Sunday: hotter
Temperatures will rise further on Sunday, with a warm atmosphere in the middle of the day. Many highs will range between 24°C and 29°C, but they will slightly exceed 30°C in parts of the West and inland areas of the Ebro River and Valencia. Sunshine and calm will prevail, with only a few decorative thin clouds and morning fog. In the afternoon, the dark clouds will grow stronger in the Pyrenees, where some showers and thunderstorms will occur.
Midsummer heat next week
There will be little change on Monday, but over the next week the anticyclone will fully settle in our home and temperatures will soar. Midweek will see highs of 24°C to 33°C, above average. We're on the cusp of the first days of midsummer heat this season, right at the end of May.
