BarcelonaToday there will be a slight change in the weather, with more low clouds in many coastal and pre-coastal areas. Scattered and fairly localized showers will fall in some parts of these areas, especially between Barcelona and Tarragona, with cooler temperatures in the middle of the day. In fact, some very localized showers have fallen early in the morning, already leaving up to 12 l/m² in Viladecans, in the Baix Llobregat region. However, sunny and calm conditions will continue to prevail inland, with morning fog. Yesterday, temperatures already exceeded 28°C locally on the Ebro River, and the coming days will be calm and warmer, with peak temperatures on Saturday. All this pending further changes for Sunday.

Thursday: Changes on the coast

Low clouds will be more prevalent this Thursday along the coast and pre-coast, especially in Barcelona and Camp de Tarragona. These areas may experience repeated, scattered and patchy showers during the morning. Overall, these showers will be relatively few, though we cannot rule out the occasional more significant shower. In the afternoon, scattered showers or scattered sprinkles may occur in these areas. However, sunshine and calm will prevail in the rest of the regions, especially to the west. The morning will also be very foggy inland and on the pre-coast.

In the afternoon, cloudy skies will develop in mountainous areas, but will be harmless. Maximum temperatures will drop along the coast and pre-coast, with cooler temperatures in the middle of the day. There will be little change elsewhere, and the morning will be quite cool inland and milder near the sea. The north wind will continue to blow throughout the morning in the Empordà region.

Calm and more warmth in the coming days

On Friday, the sun will dominate, with some remaining clouds on the coast and harmless afternoon clouds in mountainous areas. High, thin cloud bands will also arrive. A calm day with higher temperatures. Saturday will remain calm, and temperatures will rise even further, with a temporary peak of warmth. A mild summer will leave temperatures around 30°C in the warmest inland areas. A few showers may reach the north face of the Pyrenees in the evening.

Looking ahead to Sunday, the passage of a weak front could bring some afternoon showers to the Pyrenees, the northeast, and parts of the coast. However, the latest weather maps indicate little rain for the time being. What this change in weather will do is open the door to colder air, which will lower temperatures, with temperatures even below average from then on.
