Saint George less warm and profitable, but with exceptions: where can it rain?
Temperatures will drop, especially inland, and scattered showers will be repeated in some regions
BarcelonaAfter a week marked by afternoon downpours and storms accompanied by hail and sleet in some regions, this Sant Jordi the weather will not be clear. It will be an enjoyable and quite sunny day in most of the country to enjoy the book and rose stalls outdoors, but there will be exceptions. In the morning, some drizzles may occur in the northeast and the Ebro region, and in the afternoon, some scattered showers and irregular storms will repeat in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees. All this with a clear drop in temperatures due to the entry of cooler northwesterly winds. A decrease that will be particularly noticeable in the interior and will make the heat much more contained in the middle of the day. All this after storms have repeated this Wednesday, especially in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, in the northeast and the Ebro region, while there has been a heat peak, with maximums of up to 31 or 32 °C in Poniente and the interior of the Ebro, with a notable 32.2°C reached in Vinebre (Ribera d'Ebre).
Quite a quiet day
We will wake up this Thursday with sun combined with some thin clouds and dust in suspension. In addition, during the morning there will be quite a few low clouds in parts of the northeast and in the Ebro, where some drizzles accompanied by mud may occur that will not continue for the rest of the day. In the afternoon, cloudiness will grow, leaving new showers and storms of an irregular nature in the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, locally with hail or sleet.
Some local showers are not ruled out in Ports and on the southern pre-coastal area. Therefore, on Sant Jordi afternoon, keep an eye on the sky in these regions, but calm will prevail in the rest of the country, with sun especially near the coast, which will allow for an pleasant day.
The northeast wind will strengthen, at times the east wind, with moderate gusts on the coast and in elevated areas. Cooler air that will be responsible for lowering temperatures. The drop will be especially marked in the interior, where the mercury may fall between 4 and 8 degrees compared to Wednesday. Many maximums will only move between 20 and 25 °C, far from the 30 °C of recent days.
Few changes in the coming days
The weather will remain very calm and sunny in most of the country for the rest of the week, with only a few afternoon showers that will repeat in mountainous areas. Temperatures will pick up after the Sant Jordi drop, and the atmosphere will be warm at midday, although in principle with less extreme values than in recent days. In any case, the mercury will remain above the usual average for this time of year. No rain episode is in sight.
