BarcelonaThe erratic showers and thunderstorms that fell between yesterday afternoon and tonight have affected several regions, leaving some local downpours that accumulated more than 20 or 30 l/m² in just half an hour (you'll find all the data at the end of this report). As the night progressed, calm has spread throughout, and this morning the weather will be generally very pleasant, with no rain. It will be in the afternoon when clouds will gather again, bringing new downpours, but less extensively. They will fall in inland areas of the northern half of the country, as well as in the pre-coastal and other mountain areas. No significant rain is in sight over the next few days, but the weather will not be clear, and some scattered showers will remain. All this with temperatures at bay.

Wednesday: Time doesn't clean

Wednesday morning will be very calm, even with many sunny spells. However, there will be some cloudy patches that should not leave any precipitation. There will also be morning fog on inland plains and valleys. The exception will be the coast of Valencia and northern Alicante—especially around Cabo de la Nau—and in parts of the Balearic Islands, where there will be some very irregular showers and thunderstorms.

As we continue to experience a lot of cold air and instability at altitude, clouds will again develop in the afternoon, bringing some very disjointed showers and thunderstorms. They will primarily affect parts of the Pre-Pyrenees, Central Catalonia—particularly the northern part of the sector—and the eastern Pyrenees, as well as some areas of the pre-coastal and other mountain areas. Some storms will again be strong and locally accompanied by hail, so Meteocat is maintaining active alerts in the north of the country. They will also fall inland in the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands, with scattered and localized rainfall. Elsewhere, no rain is expected, especially on the coast and in the west, but the sky will be variable.

All this with minimum temperatures dropping, and the chill is more noticeable early in the morning, but the maximum temperatures will remain relatively unchanged. Thermometers are in check, with many midday readings between 19 and 24°C. The north wind will blow moderately in the Empordà region, while the east wind or light to moderate winds will prevail along the rest of the coast.

Remnants of showers in the coming days

No new major rain storms are in sight, but unstable conditions will persist, and the weather will be rough. The sky will remain changeable due to the presence of dark clouds, and scattered showers will occur daily in some regions. On Thursday, they will be more likely on the southern coast and pre-coast, and in central Catalonia, and on Friday, they will affect even fewer areas. A classic autumn situation will be expected, with temperatures expected to remain normal for some time.
