BarcelonaThe week has started very calmly overall and has become warmer, with highs once again reaching 35°C locally in the West. A slight change in the weather is expected this Tuesday, as the passage of the tail end of a worn-out front will temporarily reactivate instability. More cloudy periods are expected, but light rain is not expected everywhere. Between early morning and early morning, some spotty showers are expected, mainly in parts of the Pre-Pyrenees, the Pre-Pyrenees, and the southern coast and pre-coast. A few local thunderstorms are not ruled out. Maximum temperatures will be shorter due to increased cloud cover, but from Wednesday onwards, the calm and warmth will increase. The last days of the official summer will be very warm, with temperatures clearly above average.

Tuesday: scattered showers

From tonight into the morning, the clouds will generally increase, and a few showers are expected, but not everywhere. The most likely are expected in the Pre-Pyrenees—especially the western Pyrenees—in some parts of the Pyrenees, and in coastal and southern pre-coastal areas. These will generally be irregular, although locally with some thunderstorms. Showers or light showers cannot be ruled out in other areas, such as the Barcelona coast and central Catalonia.

The abundant cloudiness of the early hours of the day will gradually break up but will not disappear, leaving a variable afternoon with only some weak and isolated showers in the eastern Pyrenees or inland northeast Spain. In the afternoon, sun will rise toward the west, and the north wind will blow for the first half of the day in the Empordà region. All this will bring mild nightlife, leaving tropical lows again on the coast and in the south. Highs will drop due to increased cloud cover, with muggy conditions near the sea.

Calm and summer heat in the coming days

From Wednesday onwards, calm and sunny weather will prevail, with no major precipitation or changes expected for the rest of the week. The main event will be the temperature, which will rise sharply and peak in the coming days. Very warm weather for the time being, with highs around or above 30°C in many inland areas on the warmest days, and around 35°C in the West and inland south.

Therefore, the last official week of summer will leave us with an atmosphere more reminiscent of late August than late September, although the nights will remain cool and mild. It's worth remembering that next Monday, September 22nd, autumn officially arrives. It appears it will do so with a drop in temperatures and increased instability.
