By the end of the week some afternoon spring showers will reappear

BarcelonaCalm has completely settled in and this Tuesday has been a placid and sunny day with practically no exceptions. After a cold morning when the minimum temperatures hit rock bottom, the maximum temperatures clearly rose, and midday was milder or warmer than in recent days. Worth noting are the 25 ºC reached in some municipalities of the Ebro, such as Benissanet and Aldover. An anticyclonic and warmer trend that will increase in the coming days, with weather to take advantage of. It will be from Friday and the weekend when instability will slightly increase, which will cause the reappearance of typical spring afternoon showers in some areas, especially in mountainous regions.

Wednesday: sunny and warmer midday

Temperatures will rise more this Wednesday, both at night and during the day. Early in the morning the cold will already be more moderate, and at midday the atmosphere will be warmer, with many values between 20 and 25 ºC, even a little higher locally in the Ebro interior. Thermometers already normalized, or even slightly above average for the season.

All this with radiant sun and practically no exceptions. Only some totally harmless afternoon clouds will grow in mountainous areas, while there will be fog in inland areas first thing in the morning. Small nuances in a context of absolute calm and pleasant atmosphere. The remnants of mistral and tramontana that will remain in the morning in the Ebro and north of Empordà will disappear in the afternoon.

Small changes at the end of the week

Thursday will once again be a pleasant day to take advantage of, as we will continue under the effects of the anticyclone and a warmer air mass. Starting Friday, small changes will begin to arrive, although in most of the country the weather will remain very calm. Instability will increase slightly, and this will allow afternoon cloudiness to grow with more intensity between Friday and the weekend and leave some showers, especially in mountainous areas.

A typical situation for spring afternoons that will not be widespread, as these showers will not reach most regions. All of this with temperatures that will rise even more in the coming days and will be above the climatic average, which will keep the atmosphere warm at midday and not very cold in the early hours. Of course, the extremely high values of last week's heatwave are not expected.
