The heat peak of today will not have continuity in the coming days
Temperatures will drop from Tuesday, with a slight rebound in instability
BarcelonaTemperatures have risen significantly this Monday, with more pronounced heat and mugginess and a fully summery atmosphere. 30 °C have been reached or exceeded in various parts of the pre-littoral and inland areas. But the Ponent area stands out especially, where maximums have soared to 35 °C in municipalities such as Lleida city itself or Alcarràs (Segrià). However, this warm peak will not continue, as temperatures will be dropping in the coming days. The center of the anticyclone remains far from our home – located in the Azores –, and this will allow a worn-out cold front to cross us this Tuesday, which will mainly open the doors to the north wind and cause a drop in mercury.
Thermometers will fully normalize on Wednesday, with a very breathable atmosphere and cooler nights. The second half of the week will again be warmer and summery, but without extremes in sight. All this with a slight temporary increase in instability. Between this afternoon and tonight there will be some showers in the north and west of the country, and perhaps drizzles in other points. Tomorrow they will only be repeated in northern areas. Regarding the visit of Pope Leo XIV to Catalonia, rain in principle should not make an appearance at the planned events. Only drizzles or some local and fleeting shower can escape in the early morning and morning of Wednesday at any point.
Tuesday: small change of weather
The passage of a front tail will cause some weather changes this Tuesday. After the night's showers in the north and west, throughout the day there will be more clouds and showers in parts of the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, especially in the west. Showers are not ruled out in nearby areas and in the northeastern interior. In the rest of the territory, the sun will dominate with considerable calm. The tramuntana will blow all day in Empordà, especially in the morning, when the mistral will also blow in Ebre.
All this with minimum temperatures still a bit higher and slightly tropical values in some coastal stretches, especially in densely populated areas due to the heat island effect. But the maximums will already decrease, especially inland and in the Pyrenees. The heat will be moderate and less marked than on Monday, although it will continue. The decrease will still be little noticeable near the sea. Many maximums will be between 26°C and 31°C, locally higher in Ponent and the Ebro valley. It will be cooler in mountain areas.
Normal weather for the season mid-week
On Wednesday, temperatures will drop further and will normalize for the season. Very comfortable conditions during the day, with many highs from 23°C to 28°C, and generally cool nights, including on the coast. During the early morning and morning, some scattered drizzles or showers will fall anywhere, and in the afternoon they will concentrate in the Pyrenees. Not much overall, with more cloudy intervals.
On Thursday, values will remain similar, while from Friday onwards the mercury will rise again, and the weekend will be summery again with values above average. The weather will be quite calm.
