Mazón states that he has no plans to change the legislation to make Alicante a Spanish-speaking region.

The head of the Consell, Carlos Mazón, stated that he does not currently plan to promote a reform of the law on the use and teaching of Valencian to declare Alicante a Spanish-speaking area, as the city council recently requested with the support of the PP and Vox.
