BarcelonaThere is no contest. This is the feeling with which the 40,533 people present at the Camp Nou left for their homes. Neither the torrential rains, nor the hurricane, nor the absences that Pere Romeu's team had -Laia Aleixandri, Kika Nazareth and Vicky López-, nor the improvement in Real Madrid's squad. Nothing could prevent another rout by the blue and reds against their eternal rival (7-0), the biggest difference in a Barça-Madrid match to date.

When the match could have seemed more evenly matched, two key names were responsible for resolving all doubts: Pere Romeu and Claudia Pina. The coach once again won the tactical battle against Pau Quesada, who was dejected after the 4-0 scoreline at the half-hour mark, while the footballer from Montcada i Reixach demonstrated her well-known anti-Madrid sentiment on the pitch with a poker that will now go down in the club's history books. Graham Hansen, Ewa Pajor and Sydney Schertenleib completed the party with a scandalous result.

Only four minutes had passed when Pina scored the first goal of the match as a result of the fight to win the rebounds. The Camp Nou erupted in euphoria, even though it was not yet aware of the party that was to come. Romeu managed to neutralize Quesada's approach, unable to react after seeing herself surpassed on the pitch, and proof of this was the reaction of the white players already after the 1-0; gathered in a huddle to try to find solutions.

Some corrections that did not arrive. The blue and garnet fans—very active since before the start of the match—played their part and made the players fly, especially Claudia Pina, who took advantage of a rebound, after a shot by Ewa Pajor, to score the second of the match. A play that began with a great through ball from Patri Guijarro. With the scoreboard in their favor, Barça continued to improve in their play and Romeu's team excelled in many of its facets.

And one of these is the recovery in the opponent's half, just as Esmee Brugts did in Pina's third goal, on a pass from Patri, and Aïcha Camara in Graham Hansen's goal, after a one-two with Pajor. Few people would have imagined a script like the one experienced at the stadium. 4 to 0 against Real Madrid in just half an hour.

But Pere Romeu's team was even hungrier. And so was Pina. The Catalan player fought for a ball again, after a one-two with Pajor, to score the fifth before halftime against a Madrid side that was very soft in defense and nonexistent in attack. And after two assists, the Polish forward's goal was still missing. A goal that arrived after another great pass from Patri to Graham Hansen, who set up the goal for Pajor.

The Camp Nou, which enjoyed another magical afternoon, surrendered to Pina and Graham Hansen when they were substituted. A party that was complete with the entry of Kerolin, Martina Fernández, and Carla Julià, who made their debut at the Camp Nou. Sydney Schertenleib put the icing on the cake of the duel with a great goal to make it 7-0, the biggest difference in a Barça-Real Madrid match.

The emotions of the classic

The rain alerted everyone. The risk of flooding—in a Camp Nou completely uncovered due to the construction work—made many people wonder until the very last moment whether or not to buy tickets. The weather held up, and more than 40,000 people filled the stadium stands, where there was an exceptional atmosphere.

In fact, every time a Clásico in the rain is mentioned, the minds of the 'blaugranes' travel back to March 23, 2025, the only time Real Madrid has been able to beat Barça. The 'blancas' won 1-3 at Montjuïc in a match where a great downpour fell and where controversy was the order of the day due to a goal disallowed for Jana Fernández for a non-existent offside. Back then, there was no VAR.

The last time the Barça women's team played at the Camp Nou was a very emotional moment. It was on May 3, 2026, during the blaugranes' qualification for another Champions League final, which they would end up winning in Oslo. The emotion was present from the very first moment, a 4-2 victory, a ticket to Norway secured, and an image etched into the retinas of all the culers: Alexia Putellas leaving the pitch visibly moved and handing over the captain's armband to Patri. It would be the prelude to what was to come in the following months.
