BarcelonaBarça faces one of the most demanding tests of the season this Tuesday (9 pm). Hansi Flick's side visits Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning Champions League winners, in the match corresponding to the third round of the league phase of the top continental competition. The 'Blaugranes' arrive in Paris undefeated after stringing together eleven victories in the eleven matches played this season, but they will have to overcome defensive absences to obtain a good result against an opponent that has eliminated them on two occasions in recent years.

The duel could also be important in the fight for the lead in the league phase. Barça will look to maintain its good European momentum against a PSG side that, despite having dropped some points in the French league, has remained undefeated in Europe. The Parisians, led by Luis Enrique, will try to take advantage of the home field factor to impose themselves on a team that does not yet know defeat.

Recent precedents, however, do not invite confidence. Barça was eliminated by PSG in the 2021 Champions League round of 16 and the 2024 quarter-finals. Furthermore, the French side also beat the 'Blaugranes' in the league phase last season (1-2 at Montjuïc). Even so, Barça's last trip to the Parc des Princes ended in an away victory, a precedent that Flick's men can use as a reference to face the challenge.

Barça has the absences of Eric Garcia –who suffers from a muscular injury to the rectus femoris of his right thigh–, Jules Kounde –with a sprain to his left ankle– and Andreas Christensen, who remains injured. On the other hand, Gerard Martín, who finished with discomfort against Betis, has been included in the squad. PSG, for its part, will not be able to count on Nuno Mendes –injured in his left thigh in the last Ligue 1 match against Strasbourg– or Senny Mayulu. Maghnes Akliouche is a doubt, as he is suffering from some discomfort in his left ankle.
