Fermín will decide within 48 hours whether he will leave Barça.

The club will assess Chelsea's interest in acquiring the young midfielder, who has the final say.

BarcelonaBarça is preparing to consider a multi-million-dollar offer from Chelsea to sell Fermín López this last week of the transfer window. The proposed amount from the London club, one of the richest in Europe, could exceed €50 million. The club, according to the newspaper Sport and The Athletic and ARA has been able to confirm, will evaluate these days whether to accept it to put an end once and for all to its problems with the salary cap and register at once the three players who are still to be registered in the League: Gerard Martín, Wojciech Szczęsny and Roony Bardghji. The transfer window will close next Monday, September 1st, at 11:50 PM. That's more than enough time for offices across Europe to be buzzing.

It's important to remember that the income from transferring Fermín to the Premier League would be fully accounted for in the club's accounts, as he is a player trained at La Masia and has no associated costs to amortize. Therefore, it would not only help Barça recover the 1:1 rule of the fair play financial, but would improve the photography of the numbers a few months before the end of Joan Laporta's mandate and the elections in which the current leader and his board of directors intend to extend their government. Fermín, valued at 50 million euros on the specialized website Transfermarkt, is worth more than Marc Casadó (30), who is another of the names that have been mentioned for sale operations before the close of the market. Sources from the entity consulted by this newspaper do not rule out the possibility of exit movements and admit that, in this sense, there may be news with Fermín in the coming days.

The Andalusian midfielder is not an undisputed starter and did not play a single minute on Levante's pitch, where Flick preferred to revolutionize the match with Dani Olmo and Gavi with the score against them. However, the German coach has already expressed on more than one occasion that he doesn't want to lose any more potential from the squad he's been managing since last summer. Furthermore, Fermín was one of the key assets in the final stretch of last season, a season he closed with eight goals and ten assists in a total of 46 appearances. One of his most iconic goals came at the RCDE Stadium, in a 2-0 victory that mathematically secured the league title for the Blaugrana.

The final decision depends exclusively on Fermín

That Flick doesn't want to lose any more potential was already clear on Saturday in Valencia. He sent a clear message to the board by including Casadó in the starting lineup for Saturday's Levante-Barça match and resigned himself to the departure of Iñigo Martínez, the team's best defender in recent months. He also expressed controlled discontent over the problems with the registration of three players he has ahead of what he expects to be a very tough season.

Whether Fermín López leaves Barça or not depends entirely on him. The club would accept his departure to Chelsea for purely financial reasons, and the role the Andalusian midfielder currently has in the first team would be filled by Dro Fernández, from the reserve team. Sources consulted by ARA, both within the club and close to the player, assure this newspaper that Chelsea's interest in signing the player is genuine and that the player will make a decision within 48 hours. He's a club asset that's fully integrated into Catalonia and, obviously, needs a reasonable amount of time to assess what would be a radical change of life and environment. If he ultimately takes the step, Chelsea and Barça will begin direct negotiations.
