Barça thrashes Daegu in another Lamine Yamal performance.

The Catalans beat the South Koreans in a match in which Gavi, Dro and Rashford also shined.

BarcelonaLamine Yamal is a footballer who doesn't blink an eye. He came into the world to have a blast and faces life with the same mischievous spirit that he later displays on the football pitch, where his unusual talent flows forth, always benefiting the team's performance. After having discovered him in La Torreta, I'm not sure if the winger from Rocafonda is capable of generating momentum this season and in the ones to come. Although he's just turned 18, it's not worth thinking about the future when the present is already so tempting.

As expected, Daegu FC fell to Barça (0-5) in a match marked by the presence and absence of Lamine Yamal. With him on the pitch for the entire first half, the Blaugrana team produced attacks at a speed that was impossible for their opponents to sustain, who reached halftime as they reached halftime. They couldn't react in any way. The Rocafonda winger didn't score any, but that wasn't enough to make him the most special player in Hansi Flick's squad for another day.

Lamine Yamal is so brutally good that he overshadows events that in another universe would deserve much more attention, such as Gavi's brilliant double, who approaches the season eager to be more important. He's partly thanks to a sting from Kounde, a full-back who wanted to be a central defender and who sometimes expresses himself as a playmaker. He's also a great opportunity for Dro Fernández, a regular in the attacking midfield. The young talent from Nigrán (Galicia) isn't afraid of the challenge of competing with the big boys. His game is pure plasticity.

In the second half, Lamine Yamal's crime machine stayed in the locker room to make way for a more organized version of Barça. Flick, who didn't want any scares or injuries before the Gamper match and the start of the competitive campaign, withdrew the Maresme striker and the ten players who accompanied him from the starting lineup. The German prioritized the participation of almost all available players – Iñigo Martínez, Ferran Torres, and Fermín were out due to discomfort – and tested Rashford at the top of the attack. The Englishman responded with a pure striker's goal from a pass from Eric Garcia, who has emerged as the best possible replacement for Kounde (65').

Ten minutes earlier, Toni Fernández, a La Masía gem even younger than Lamine Yamal, had made it 0-4 with a precise left-footed shot after a good move with Olmo. The only bad news of the entire match was the strain Cubarsí suffered in his left calf. If the young player from Estanyol's preseason hadn't been the best, it remains to be seen whether Flick can count on him in the coming weeks.
