The December bridge is one of the last great opportunities of the year to take a getaway before the Christmas holidays arrive. Viatges Eurovacances offers an attractive selection of trips that allow you to discover some of the most fascinating corners of Europe and the world. Always with a guide from Barcelona and a meticulously planned itinerary, Eurovacances celebrates its 40 years in 2026 as pioneers of a new way of traveling that has now spread. With its program, it proposes to make the December bridge much more than a few days of rest: an opportunity to live new experiences, discover fascinating cultures and landscapes, and start feeling the magic of the holidays before Christmas arrives.

For lovers of Christmas traditions, Germany and its Christmas markets offer a full-of-atmosphere proposal. Hamburg, Bremen, Lübeck, Celle, and Lüneburg allow you to discover some of the most interesting historic centers in the north of the country while squares and streets fill with lights, decorations, aromas of mulled wine and traditional sweets, craft stalls, and a unique atmosphere that turns German cities into an authentic Christmas tale.

Slovenia is another of the great European proposals for the bridge. A small Alpine country that surprises with the variety of its landscapes, combining mountains, lakes, caves, elegant cities, and a small maritime facade. The route begins with the discovery of Trieste and its heritage, including Miramar Castle, before entering Slovenia, where you can discover Predjama Castle, built inside a huge cave, and take a tour of the Postojna Caves, an immense underground world partially explored by electric train.

The capital, Ljubljana, will reveal its elegant historic center, you will enjoy a short cruise on the Ljubljanica River, and you will get to know its Christmas market. You can contemplate Lake Bohinj and Mount Vogel, with a cable car and magnificent views over the Julian Alps, before arriving at the country's most famous postcard: Lake Bled. The route will be completed with the spectacular Škocjan Caves, declared a World Heritage Site, and the discovery of Piran, one of the most beautiful coastal towns in the country.

Slovenia, a real discovery

Romania also presents itself as a destination full of contrasts, where the history of Transylvania and the legend of Dracula combine with some of the most attractive medieval cities in Europe and the atmosphere of Christmas markets. The grand avenues and monumental buildings of the capital, Bucharest, and such outstanding visits as Peles Castle, an old royal residence surrounded by gardens, and the famous Bran Castle, linked to the historical figure who inspired the character of Dracula. Brasov, with its Black Church, the Council Square and one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in the country. Sibiu and its rich medieval and baroque heritage, Alba Iulia fortress, the city of Cluj-Napoca and the surprising Craiova.

And if you want an authentic immersion in the settings that saw the birth of philosophy, democracy and a good part of Western culture, a trip to Greece is for you. You will contemplate the Corinth Canal, the impressive theater of Epidaurus and ancient Mycenae, with the famous Lion Gate, the acropolis and the tomb of Agamemnon. The archaeological remains of Olympia, where the Ancient Olympic Games were born, and the sanctuary of Delphi, with its museum and the precinct dedicated to Apollo, will also be visited. The journey will continue to the spectacular hanging monasteries of Meteora and will culminate in Athens with a visit to the Acropolis, the Parthenon and the new Acropolis Museum, before an excursion to Cape Sounion. A route through some of the great symbols of the classical world.

For those who prefer more exotic destinations, you cannot miss the trip to Cairo and Alexandria. The most monumental and legendary Egypt, with its great pharaonic constructions, coexists with the Mediterranean elegance of Alexandria, a city marked by centuries of history and the meeting of cultures. And if, in addition to exoticism, you want a completely different experience, Tanzania and Zanzibar offer a combination that is hard to beat. The great safaris through the African national parks of Serengeti, Tarangire and Ngorongoro allow you to contemplate spectacular wildlife up close in some of the most impressive natural settings on the planet. And, after the adventure, Zanzibar puts the finishing touch to the trip with white sandy beaches, clear waters and the unmistakable charm of the Indian Ocean.

Last months to finish 2026 with a big trip

The months of October and November are a privileged window for taking great trips: less tourism, more pleasant temperatures, and a wide variety of destinations where our autumn coincides with their best moment. This is the case, for example, of Patagonia, where we can combine the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Buenos Aires, the spectacular Perito Moreno glacier, the crossing of the Andean cruce from Puerto Varas to Bariloche, and the unique experience of the Skorpios cruise along the Kaweskar route, among fjords, glaciers, and spectacular austral landscapes. Or Japan, which invites you to get lost between tradition and modernity, from the vitality of Tokyo to the temples of Kyoto and Nara, passing through Hiroshima and its moving historical legacy, without forgetting the emblematic Mount Fuji; an itinerary magnified by the ochre and reddish tones of this time of year.

Australia

Australia offers us a journey full of contrasts between the large cities of Sydney and Melbourne, the immense red desert of Uluru and Cairns, gateway to the fascinating Great Barrier Reef. For those who dream of an authentic tropical paradise, French Polynesia expands this selection with an unforgettable cruise from Papeete through the islands of Moorea, Huahine, Bora Bora, Tahaa and Raiatea, a universe of turquoise waters, lagoons and landscapes of extraordinary beauty.

Peru takes us to discover the magical city of Cusco, ancient capital of the Inca Empire, the world wonder of Machu Picchu, the immensity of Lake Titicaca with its floating islands, the mysterious Nazca lines and the spectacular landscapes of the Colca Valley, one of the deepest canyons in the world. And in Guatemala you can live an experience full of color and tradition by visiting Tikal, with its majestic Mayan ruins in the middle of the jungle, and Copán, one of the most important archaeological sites; Chichicastenango and its famous indigenous market, Guatemala City with its vitality, Lake Atitlán, surrounded by volcanoes and picturesque villages and Antigua, a colonial city with cobbled streets and a unique atmosphere.

End and start the year traveling

Eurovacances, which has three agencies in Barcelona, Granollers and Girona, will welcome the new year with two very special short-distance proposals. In Tangier, five days to discover the essence of northern Morocco, from the spectacular Caves of Hercules and Cape Spartel to the charm of Asilah, Tetouan and Chefchaouen, the blue city. And in Andalusia on a six-day trip that combines the beauty of Malaga, Frigiliana and Nerja with the landscapes of Almeria and Cabo de Gata and the singularities of Mojácar, Tabernas and Garrucha. Two very different ways to celebrate New Year's Eve.

The year is ending, but this last quarter still offers us great opportunities to travel and Eurovacances Travel helps you choose your next adventure, always with guidance from Barcelona.
