These are the new university degrees for the 2026/2027 academic year

Health and life sciences

• Degree in Medicine. Ramon Llull University (Blanquerna-URL). The degree program has an educational model based on three pillars: technology, humanism, and social commitment. The program aims to train professionals with up-to-date scientific and technological preparation, but also with a strong humanistic dimension and a sensitive approach to caring for people.
• Degree in Medicine. Abat Oliba CEU University (UAO). It is designed to address the main challenges of contemporary health, such as population aging, the rise in chronic diseases, and the impact of digital health and artificial intelligence on healthcare. The program aims to train physicians with a strong scientific and technological foundation.
• Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering (online). Open University of Catalonia (UOC). This is the first degree in Biomedical Engineering offered entirely online. The program focuses on areas such as artificial intelligence, medical imaging, and bioinformatics, with the aim of preparing professionals capable of designing medical devices and contributing to the development of personalized medicine.
• Double degree in Nursing and Physiotherapy. The University of Lleida (UdL) aims to address the high demand for health studies, particularly for degrees in Nursing and Physiotherapy, which currently exceed the number of available places. The program allows students to pursue both degrees simultaneously, training professionals with comprehensive preparation in the field of healthcare.
• Double degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy. University of Lleida (UdL). This dual degree program is offered at the Igualada-UdL University Campus and combines two key areas of health sciences: nutrition and physiotherapy. The program responds to the growing demand for professionals capable of addressing health from a holistic perspective.
• Double degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and Physiotherapy. University of Lleida (UdL). This program allows students to simultaneously pursue a degree in Physiotherapy and a degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences (CAFE). The curriculum is designed to combine the knowledge and skills of two disciplines closely linked to the fields of health and physical activity.

Engineering, technology and data

• Degree in Technologies and Management of Telecommunications Companies. Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and University of Barcelona (UB). This joint degree program combines telecommunications technologies with business administration and management training. Students will be trained in areas such as communications, electronics, telematics, and artificial intelligence, with knowledge in finance, marketing, and business strategy.
• Degree in Engineering and Management of Agri-food Companies. Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and University of Barcelona (UB). This joint degree combines training in agricultural engineering and the food industry with business management skills. The aim is to train professionals capable of optimizing production processes, improving food quality and safety, and leading companies in the agri-food sector.
• Degree in Applied Mathematics. IQS School of Engineering-URL / La Salle School of Engineering-URL. It offers a solid foundation in mathematics geared towards solving real-world problems in fields such as biology, industrial engineering, artificial intelligence, data science, and business management. The program combines mathematical modeling, programming, and data analysis.
• Degree in Software Development and Testing (online). Open University of Catalonia (UOC), Open University of the Netherlands (OUNL), and UNED. The program offers international training in digital technologies, with a clear focus on the current needs of the sector. Students will be trained in areas such as programming, user experience, cloud computing, mobile systems, and cybersecurity.

Territory, environment and sustainability

• Double degree in Environmental Engineering and Marine Sciences and Technologies. The Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) offers interdisciplinary training to address major environmental and marine challenges. Students will earn two official degrees in five years. The program trains professionals capable of analyzing and managing environmental problems related to marine and coastal ecosystems.
• Degree in Geography and Global Challenges. University of Lleida (UdL). It trains professionals capable of analyzing the major territorial challenges of the 21st century, such as climate change, urbanization, inequality, and migration. The program combines knowledge of natural and social sciences with advanced technological tools.

Social sciences, law and education

• Bachelor of Laws. University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC). The program will be offered at the Vic and Manresa campuses, with 40 places available at each location. This new degree program addresses an existing demand in Central Catalonia, where these studies were previously unavailable in person.
• Double degree in Psychology and Criminology. Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). The program is designed to train professionals specializing in intervention in situations of violence and risk, such as violence against children, sexual violence, gender-based violence, or harassment.
• Double degree in Primary Education and Physical Activity and Sports Sciences. University of Lleida (UdL). The program is designed to align the content and skills of both disciplines, combining pedagogical training with specialization in physical activity and sport. The program lasts five years.

Humanities, culture and communication

• Bachelor's Degree in East Asian Studies (new specialization in Korean). Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). The degree program will incorporate a new specialization in Korean language and culture, in addition to the existing specializations in Chinese and Japanese. The program will also expand its enrollment to 90 new students.
• Bachelor's Degree in Humanities and Cultural Management (renewed curriculum). Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). The degree program is being updated to adapt to the new challenges of the cultural sector. The program will emphasize the management of sustainable and inclusive cultural projects and events, as well as the promotion of the democratization of culture.
• Bachelor's Degree in History (renewed curriculum). Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). The degree program is expanding its range of elective courses and specializations to strengthen students' career prospects. The goal is to train professionals with critical thinking skills and a deep understanding of historical processes.
• Degree in Communication and Digital Content Creation. Abat Oliba CEU University (UAO) responds to the transformation of the communications sector in the digital age and trains professionals capable of creating content for different platforms and multimedia environments. The program combines audiovisual storytelling, digital strategy, and data analysis to understand the workings of new media ecosystems.
