La Salle's vocational training cycles anticipate the needs of Catalan industry
La Salle Catalunya promotes accessible professional training, rooted in the territory and in total accordance with the business and social needs of the country
If there is one thing that characterizes La Salle Catalunya, it is its vocation to respond to the business and social needs of the territory where it is located. This objective is particularly evident in the intermediate and higher vocational training qualifications it offers in its nine EF centers within the network of 26 centers it has spread across our country. All these courses focus on the challenges faced at every moment by Catalan businesses, industry, and society, which favors the institution having a presence throughout Catalonia. Only in this way can it grasp, and even anticipate, the real needs of the environment and integrate them into the study plans of the qualifications it makes available to students.
This anticipation is what explains, for example, the recent incorporation into the La Salle Tarragona catalogue of the higher vocational training cycle in Development of cross-platform applications, with a professional profile in Video games and digital entertainment, thus expanding the training offer, as indicated by the institution, “in innovative sectors with high labor demand”. It is also the reason behind the launch, last year, of the intermediate vocational training cycle in Care for people in a situation of dependency at La Salle Premià, or the intermediate vocational training cycles in Commercial activities and Care for people in a situation of dependency at La Salle Figueres.
Social integration vs. professional retraining
In order to promote access to training for those people who are active and/or have family responsibilities, On the other hand, La Salle Catalunya offers ten intermediate degrees, a sufficiently broad range, overall, for each person to find the most suitable way to retrain professionally or even to relocate to another sector of activity.
Flexible training offer
In order to promote access to training for those people who are active and/or have family responsibilities, La Salle also offers four of its higher education qualifications in online mode (Administration and finance; Networked computer systems administration; Cross-platform application development and Web application development). An online catalog to which, next academic year 2026-2027, the Occupational risk prevention cycle will be added. In fact, one of the institution's short-term objectives is to promote online vocational training, consolidating a flexible and high-quality training offer that responds to the new needs of students and the labor market, and that allows expanding the scope and accessibility of vocational training throughout the territory.
Since 2017, La Salle has been applying a New Learning Context (NCA), developed by the institution itself, in all its educational centers and in all stages of schooling, from early childhood to university. This NCA was born with the aim of comprehensively developing the person, based on a constructivist model in which the student occupies the center of learning. An own pedagogical design, which takes advantage of the benefits of digitalization and is also based on five principles: interiority; mind, body, and movement; thought construction; self-regulated behavior; and the social dimension of learning.
