Promoted by theProfessional Association of Theatre for All Audiences (TTP) and with the collaboration and complicity of ADETCA (Association of Theatre Companies of Catalonia), EscenaFamiliar currently gives visibility to almost 500 professional companies, and to more than 1600 shows from all over Catalonia. The web portal is consolidated as the essential meeting point for performing arts for all audiences – children, family, and youth – with the common objective of dignifying the sector and improving working and creation conditions.

EscenaFamiliar.cat connects families, companies, programmers, and festivals with the aim of promoting a culture that, by definition, seeks to educate, excite, and transform. With a complete agenda of shows throughout the territory, specialized content with professional criteria, and all the information on performances, venues, and shows, the platform reveals the cultural news for children in a single click.

The project carefully and specializedly gathers all the information on the Catalan cultural scene and makes the best creations and recommendations of the performing arts available to families, in a decentralized and broad manner. EscenaFamiliar becomes a reliable information point and a reference for professionals and the best digital showcase for their creations.

A complete agenda, valuable articles, and the best advice make the portal an essential tool for rigorously giving visibility to companies and programmers from all over.

Culture in motion

The history of EscenaFamiliar dates back to 2014, the year of its creation, and it is an initiative of TTP with the support of ADETCA, ICEC, the Generalitat de Catalunya and a beneficiary of the I Plan d’impuls al Teatre.

The platform is consolidated as a major driver of culture with a broad and detailed showcase of the performing arts that are performed throughout Catalonia. EscenaFamiliar connects audiences, companies, and programmers and strengthens the presence of festivals across the country as essential spaces for shared culture through its completely renovated website, with easy access and all the essential information to drive culture.

With a visually more attractive and intuitive image, the portal brings together all the latest news and best content, offering, in addition, a selection of news, interviews, and reports to get an in-depth understanding of the best of family theater. With comments and reviews, the platform fosters critical thinking among an audience that seeks not only entertainment but also education in culture.

The reliability of a project like that ofEscenaFamiliar covers not only this need for families but also that of professionals to assert the quality of their shows and at the same time dignify a profession with great cultural and social weight.

The Club of Restless Butts

The portal has its own club, where people can sign up and enjoy the best benefits. The Club of Restless Butts offers, in addition to all the information, unique experiences to enjoy as a family and to grow emotionally, in values, and culturally its most loyal followers.

A creative universe that includes street arts, theater, dance, circus, clowns, installations, magic, music, animation, puppets, and objects.

It is a free club where children and adults can be informed and enjoy unique experiences.

A project for the country

The 1st Plan for the Promotion of Theatre includes the relaunch of the platform's new website, an initiative by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Association of Actors and Directors of Catalonia (AADPC), the Association of Theatre Companies of Catalonia (ADETCA), the Association of Professional Theatre Companies of Catalonia (CIATRE), the Professional Association of Theatre for All Audiences (TTP), the Collective of Independent Theatre Companies of Catalonia, the Street Arts Platform (PAC) and UNIMA Catalunya.
