Gironella Christmas Market

Gironella is celebrating the fifth edition of its Christmas Market this year, transforming the town's train station square into the epicenter of the festivities and the largest showcase of products from the Berguedà region. Every Friday afternoon, and Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon until December 21st, more than seventy stallholders, artisans, and local producers await you, offering the best options for celebrating the holidays. The market also features a food area with a variety of culinary offerings. food trucks and a children's area with activities planned for the youngest members of the family. On the days the Gironella Christmas Market is open, it also offers a wide range of complementary activities for all ages. Figueres Christmas Market

Until December 24th, the Figueres Christmas Market, located on the Rambla in the capital of the Alt Empordà region, will be filled with Christmas decorations, nativity scenes, Christmas trees, musical performances, and many surprises. Young children can enjoy crafts and games in the Magic Booth in the lower square while waiting for Fumera, a mysterious page, to appear. Fumera arrives long before the Three Kings to see the good deeds the children do and record them in his notebook. Also visiting the Magic Booth is Nadalina, a magical doll who has come to life and escaped from the Toy Museum of Catalonia. And since Figueres is the birthplace of Salvador Dalí, don't miss the guided tour of the historic center to discover the Christmas lights illuminating the streets. These lights are inspired by the Christmas postcards the painter created for nineteen consecutive years, commissioned by the German pharmaceutical company Hoechst.

The 361st Vilafranca del Penedès Rooster Fair

The capital of the Alt Penedès region celebrates the 361st edition of the Rooster Fair this year, a renowned event taking place on December 20th and 21st in Sant Julià Park. The star of the show is the Gall del Penedès, a native bird of great gastronomic value, recognized with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status. Visitors will be able to see for themselves. in situThe event will feature a poultry cooking demonstration and wine tastings from the Penedès DO (Designation of Origin). This year, in addition to the debut of "La Previa en los Barrios" (The Preview in the Neighborhoods) in the days leading up to the fair, spaces like "El Galliner," the fair's evening activity, will be consolidated. This year's event will include comedy from Oye Sherman and Alba Segarra, and a DJ set by John Jacobsen. Furthermore, on Saturday, December 20, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, December 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., over ninety stalls will be set up along Avenida de Catalunya as part of the art and crafts market, natural food products, and a flea market.

Fonollosa Christmas Market

The traditional Christmas Market in Fonollosa, in the Bages region, adds an extra day this year compared to previous editions. On December 20th and 21st, the town's old quarter will come alive with over forty stalls selling crafts, local products, and offering a variety of activities. As always, the market will also highlight the importance of traditional trades and crafts, combining culture, gastronomy, and music to fully embrace the Christmas spirit that permeates every corner of the town. This year, one of the program's highlights will be a surprise show to switch on the Christmas lights on Saturday the 20th in the afternoon. In addition, there will be workshops on floral design and candle making, as well as activities for families, such as cookie decorating workshops, performances, and the search for the municipal Tió de Nadal (a traditional Catalan Christmas log). Until December 23rd, the Cathedral Avenue in Barcelona will once again be adorned for the traditional Santa Llúcia Fair, the oldest fair of its kind in Catalonia.
