A woman and her daughter live together for years with the corpse of the man, a renowned doctor, at home

It was a detached house located in Cabrera d'Anoia where a family lived, consisting of a father, Albert Soler, a doctor known in the world of homeopathy, his wife, and his daughter, who was ten years old when they arrived a decade ago. After neighbor complaints and the intervention of the City Council, according to sources from the council, this Tuesday, the Mossos d'Esquadra tried to get in touch with this family, but they would pick up and quickly hang up the phone. Finally, this Wednesday, they decided to approach the house and ring the doorbell.

According to sources consulted by ARA, at first the woman did not want to let them in, and a long negotiation began that bore fruit. The officers entered and found themselves surrounded by dirt and garbage everywhere. Some mice scurried by until they reached a room. There, sitting in an armchair, was the lifeless body of Albert Soler, covered with a blanket. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition and the woman claimed that he had been dead for about two years. In fact, she and her daughter, who is now an adult and is 21 years old, had not left the house regularly since the pandemic, they assured the agents.

For the moment, the Mossos have not found evident signs of criminality in the body of the deceased, although the corpse is in very poor condition and a thorough autopsy will be needed to have definitive conclusions, if they arrive at all. The two residents of the home, mother and daughter, have been transferred to a health center to receive medical and social attention and have not been detained. In fact, everything points to the fact that there are mental health problems behind this situation.

Schooling problems

In fact, according to municipal sources, there had already been problems with them over the years regarding the schooling of their daughter. Since the pandemic, they practically did not go out into the street and ordered groceries online. When the delivery person arrived, they would say they were not at home so that they would leave it at the door, and then they would go to pick it up at night so that no one would see them. A neighbor had asked the woman some time ago how her husband was doing, as she had not seen him for a while, and she replied that he was ill. Furthermore, municipal sources state that they had not had any water consumption for six months.

The man would now be 77 years old, and it is estimated that he died in 2024, although the autopsy will also determine this. The deceased was a recognized figure in the world of homeopathy, with publications and participation in national and international bodies.
