BarcelonaTwo Civil Guard agents have been injured during a shooting in Terrassa. Sources consulted by ARA indicate that the agents were involved in a pursuit when the individuals they were following allegedly opened fire on them. At least one of the agents is reported to be in serious condition. Both officers have been taken to the hospital. This same night, the Mossos have arrested three people as the alleged perpetrators of the shots.
Specifically, the two agents, who were not in uniform, were carrying out a duty when they detected a suspicious vehicle at the Porta de Barcelona, on the AP-7 motorway. The officers attempted to identify the occupants of this car, but instead of stopping, the driver tried to run them over. One of the police hypotheses is that the suspects were thieves specialized in stealing cargo from trucks, known as 'teloners'.
Finally, the agents located this car, which had fled, in the Can Parellada neighborhood of Terrassa. Around 10:30 PM, the occupants of the car detected the officers again and opened fire on them. The Civil Guards also returned fire. Both agents were wounded, one by a single bullet impact and the other by four. One of them managed to alert Emergency Services and both were taken to the hospital. At this moment, although they remain hospitalized, they are out of danger.
From that moment on, the Mossos initiated an operation with intervention groups in the neighborhood and during the night they managed to arrest the three alleged individuals involved.
The Spanish government delegate in Catalonia, Carlos Prieto, has reported through social media that he is monitoring the medical progress of the injured with the general in charge of the Civil Guard zone and has thanked the emergency services, the hospitals involved, and the Mossos for their work. The mayor of Terrassa, Jordi Ballart, has also condemned the shooting.
