Three young people arrested for the shooting death of another boy in March in L'Hospitalet

BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested three young men for their alleged connection to the shooting death of another 28-year-old man on March 28 at the Parc de les Planes in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. The arrests were made this Tuesday in the same city, and the three arrested youths are 18, 19, and 29 years old. One of them was a minor at the time of the events, according to police sources. In this same shooting, another young man was seriously injured.

At that time, the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) took charge of the case, and this Tuesday, in addition to arresting the alleged perpetrators, they also searched three apartments linked to them. In one of the entries, a real, loaded firearm was located, pending analysis by the forensic police, precisely to determine if it is the one used on the day of the crime, something that can be known with precision using current new technologies.

The investigation remains open, and more arrests are not ruled out. According to sources consulted by ARA, the three detainees are reportedly linked to the Trinitarios, a youth gang with a presence primarily in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat that is the focus of a large part of the Mossos' plan against these new batches of violent groups. However, being linked to a gang does not imply, according to the same sources, that this crime is linked to the dynamics of youth groups. Especially because the fatal victim and the injured young man were not part of any gang. Before the shooting, there had been a prior argument between the two groups in the same square in L'Hospitalet.
