Three arrested in Madrid for raping an 8-year-old girl, including the father
The arrested lived in the same house as the victim although they were not related.
BarcelonaThe National Police have arrested three men for raping an 8-year-old girl at her home in the Madrid district of Usera. Among those arrested are the child's father, a 38-year-old man, a 33-year-old man, and a 24-year-old man. Madrid's Investigative Court No. 2 has ordered the three men to be held in provisional detention without bail. They all lived at the same address, although they were not related.
The arrests took place last Saturday after the victim's mother alerted them, who noticed the sexual assault when she arrived home, according to police sources told Efe. The police received the alert at 7:30 a.m. from the mother, who, very upset, reported the incident and said she feared this might not be the only time her daughter had been attacked.
Officers went to the home, and doctors from Madrid's emergency services (SAMUR) confirmed the sexual assault suffered by the minor. She had to be taken to a hospital where the sexual assault protocol was activated. In one of the rooms of the home where the victim and attackers lived, the police found traces of narcotics.
This Friday, the Government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, described the rape as "truly painful and absolutely repugnant."
