They are investigating the fatal stabbing of a young man on a landing at a Bon Pastor blog.
The body had stab wounds and bruises.
BarcelonaTwo police tapes, one on the second floor and another before reaching the landing of the third, warn you that you are near the scene of a crime. More than 15 hours have passed, but on the floor there are still traces of blood, a blanket from the medical services, and various traces of an unsuccessful resuscitation attempt. It was 8 p.m. in the Bon Pastor neighborhood of Barcelona, in the Sant Andreu district, when a young man in his early twenties lay on the floor, badly injured, on this landing. He had been stabbed and hit on the head, according to initial observations. Just at that moment, a 90-year-old neighbor was going up to her house and observed the scene: the medical services were trying to resuscitate the young man, without success. She was unable to recognize him.
The Mossos d'Esquadra are now investigating this incident as a homicide. Officers responded to this block on Séquia Madriguera Street on Tuesday night, when the body was found, and returned Wednesday morning to collect more evidence. No arrests have been made, and the police investigation is at an early stage.
Neighborhood Complaints
According to ARA, the victim is not a neighbor of the blog where he was stabbed. Neighbors point directly to an apartment on that third-floor landing, with a door that doesn't even have a lock and opens only by pushing it. The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating whether the apartment is occupied. However, neighbors complain of constant conflicts with that apartment, where many people come and go. They complain of noise and also of syringes constantly scattered around the landing. They suspect, and the police are trying to corroborate, that drug sales were being carried out and that the crime could be linked to drug trafficking.
This Wednesday, there were also several syringes scattered around, though it is unclear whether they were used by medical personnel or if they were already there before the stabbing. The Mossos d'Esquadra Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) is trying to clarify what happened on this blog, owned by Barcelona City Council.
