BarcelonaThe Government has announced this midday the new measures against covid in Catalonia that will come into force from Monday. Here we summarize in 8 points which restrictions are maintained, which ones change and what can be done during the next two weeks.

Only those with a justified motive may enter or leave Catalonia. Curfew stays in place between 10pm and 6am.

Restrictions on mobility have been eased, meaning that travelling between counties will be allowed. However, you may only travel with your your social bubble. Police may request self-responsibility declaration and cohabitation certificates.

3.

Cohabitation bubbles moving between counties will have to follow other measures, such as the restriction on gatherings of over six people.

4.

Shops to open at weekends

End to the restriction on non-essential shops opening at weekends. Now all shops under 800 square metres may open all week.

5.

Bingo, casinos and gambling halls are back

After months of bingos, casinos and gaming halls closed due to the pandemic, the government allows them to open under covid prevention rules: their capacity is restricted to 30% and a maximum of 100 people, which can be increased to 250 as long as reinforced ventilation measures are put in place and the 30% limit is not exceeded.

6.

More sport

More federated sport activities will be allowed. Until now, only over 16s were allowed; now, all aged may take part in sports activities. This does not affect cases that depend on external organisms.

7.

Sport competitions may have spectators

Another change is the return of spectators to sporting grounds. However, only a limited number will be allowed to watch from pre-allocated seats and statewide and international football and basketball leagues are excluded.

8.

Popular culture and galas authorised but with limitations

Opoular culture activities outdoors will be allowed, as long as they establish a perimeter and do not move. Indoor activities will be allowed as long as capacity, ventilation and seating conditions are met. Galas and prize awards are also authorised.
