BarcelonaFirefighters are working with the hypothesis that the sixteen-year-old adolescent disappeared in Roses (Alt Empordà) while riding a jet ski would have lost his vest at some point and sunk. Now, rescue efforts are focused on tracing the coast along the southern part of Roses, up to Begur and Palamós. Drones have also been flown over the Medes Islands and GRAE divers are making dives between two and four meters, taking advantage of the "acceptable" visibility in the area. Firefighters plan to trace the coast by helicopter this Saturday from Roses to Begur before suspending the search for the young man. This Friday's search will stop when night falls and will resume tomorrow morning.

Security forces, however, point out that the currents are varying and they do not rule out that the force of the sea may have displaced the minor to the north, contrary to what happened with his jet ski, which was found on Thursday on a beach in Pals.

Right now, the main hypothesis, as explained by the head of intervention for the Firefighters, Jordi Marquès, is that the young man had lost his safety vest at some point and had sunk into the sea. For this same reason, they believe it is perfectly viable that the jet ski appeared in Pals, pushed by the wind on the surface, but that the victim followed another underwater current and, therefore, could appear elsewhere. "It makes it very difficult to predict where he would have gone, and that's why we can only check the entire coastline limit," explains Marquès.

In parallel, the Civil Guard has sealed off the jet skis of the company where the young man had rented his, after verifying that the vehicle the victim was driving had a strong impact. Furthermore, agents have continued to take statements from the companions who were with the young man who disappeared. The alert was received around quarter to eleven at night, when they arrived in the Santa Margarida area and saw that the young man had not arrived.
