The builder who was renovating a house in Vilanova de Bellpuig contacted his family, but he is still missing.

Firefighters have already begun a search in the area and residents are conducting raids.

His name is Ramon Carulla Argilés, he is 46 years old, and he lives in Vilanova de Bellpuig. Specifically, Carulla is the builder who was renovating the house. which collapsed on WednesdayThe collapse left four people injured, two of them seriously.

According to sources consulted by ARA, Carulla disappeared without a trace after the accident. The injured were reportedly construction workers who lived in the house next to the collapsed one while working on its renovation. Both buildings collapsed after several days of rain. That same day, Carulla's family reported his disappearance to the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), according to police sources, who clarified that he is being searched for because of this report from his family and not because of the house collapse itself. The causes of the collapse are under investigation. This Friday, Carulla contacted his family, but declined to say where he is or how he is doing, according to municipal sources.

Carulla reportedly left Vilanova de Bellpuig in a gray Honda with license plate 4383KTZ. According to fire department sources, ten teams were deployed to search for him, including a helicopter and drones. Emergency services are primarily focusing their efforts on locating Carulla's vehicle in the surrounding area. Meanwhile, local residents have organized search parties with the support of the City Council, and his family has appealed to the public for help on social media.

Two rescues

The builder lives very close to the house that collapsed and went to the scene first thing in the morning. Then he disappeared. The incident occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m., and as a result of the collapse, two of the four men who were in the house were trapped. At 7:30 a.m., firefighters managed to free one of the trapped men, and after 10:00 a.m., they freed the second. It was a complicated rescue due to the risk of the entire building collapsing. However, the firefighters had visual contact and could speak with the trapped man, who was conscious. Finally, they were able to get him out.
