The Bofill Foundation decides to change its name
After 57 years, it will be renamed Equitat.org
BarcelonaFrom this Tuesday, the Jaume Bofill Foundation will cease to have a name linked to the philosopher and jurist Jaume Bofill Bofill and from now on will be called Equitat.org. As the entity has communicated, after 57 years they have decided to make a change to make clear "the mission of the foundation". From the entity they explain that with the change the mission is incorporated into the name "to explicitly claim quality education and real opportunities for everyone in a context of greater social complexity and polarization".
The new Equitat.org argues that the new name seeks to "reach all audiences that improving education implies confronting inequalities". It also explains that despite the change of name, the foundation will continue to do the same work as until now and assures that it will continue "promoting" research, programs and alliances to address school dropout and segregation, and to promote education beyond school.
"Equity is inalienable, indispensable for democracy, for progress and for the excellence of a country", insisted the director of the Foundation, Ismael Palacín, who boasted of the work done: "We have been working for equity for 57 years and we decide to put it in the name of the foundation now that many voices question that all people deserve the same dignity and the same rights".

The Jaume Bofill Foundation was founded in 1969, in the midst of Franco's regime, by Teresa Roca and Josep Maria Vilaseca. In over 50 years of history, the entity has promoted more than 2,800 studies on immigration, language, culture, and inequalities.
In 2009, Bofill decided to make a shift to focus on education, with projects such as the Lecxit reading program, which has been extended to various schools in the country; the Yearbook of Education in Catalonia; and the Zero Abandonment initiative, among others.
To continue being identifiable, the new Equitat.org will maintain corporate colors very similar to those of the Bofill Foundation and the same symbol = that has identified it for years.
