The alleged perpetrator of the crime at a neighborhood party in Barcelona is handed over to the police
The victim was trying to separate those involved in a fight when he received several stab wounds
BarcelonaThe man that the Mossos d'Esquadra were looking for as the alleged perpetrator of the fatal stabbing of a man in the Sant Genís dels Agudells neighborhood, in the Horta-Guinardó district, has handed himself in to the police, as ARA has learned. The crime took place on Saturday night, as part of a neighborhood party that ended with a fight between some of the attendees. One of them, according to the reconstruction of events by the police and witnesses, went to his home and returned with a baseball bat and a bladed weapon.
The deceased victim, who was named Alex and was 53 years old, tried to intervene between those involved and received several stab wounds. The alleged perpetrator of the crime, known in the neighborhood, fled shortly after. The Mossos had identified him and he has ended up surrendering.
Alex was also a well-known person in the neighborhood. Although he did not live there, he was linked to the football club. Among the people who witnessed the fight was also, according to sources consulted by ARA, the victim's teenage daughter. The son, who was younger, was running around the area, but would not have witnessed the events. The neighbors held a small tribute to Alex this Sunday. The Mossos' investigation remains open.
