BarcelonaOn the second day of the consultation on the agreement with the Department of Education, one-third of teachers have already cast their vote. Specifically, more than 32,000 teachers—out of a total census of almost 97,000 people—have voted in the consultation which will close on Thursday at 12 p.m. Meanwhile, teacher protests continue, albeit with much less mobilization capacity. This Tuesday, the strike called in Barcelona had a 12.2% turnout, according to data from the Department of Education.
This Tuesday morning, unions such as the CGT have called for a mobilization through the streets of Barcelona: with banners and tables, they have occupied the city's streets to position themselves against the agreement with the department. The image of the day is in front of Casa Batlló, where teachers have gathered with school furniture shouting "Niubó, resignation!".
Other messages and chants that could be heard through the streets of the center have been "May inclusion not be an illusion" or "Fighting is also educating". Dozens are currently gathering on Barcelona's Passeig de Gràcia to carry out a slow march that began at the intersection with Diagonal and ended at Plaça Urquinaona, where the headquarters of the Barcelona Education Consortium is located.

Also hundreds of teachers — a thousand according to the Guardia Urbana count — have gathered in the center of Barcelona this midday to protest against the union agreement reached with the Government. The protest began at the Palau Robert in Barcelona and went down Passeig de Gràcia, where it met an action that the same teachers had been carrying out at Casa Batlló since early in the morning.
The teachers openly protested against the union agreement with the Government, with shouts like "Niubó, enough is enough, this is not about salary" or "this agreement does not represent us". A slow march began on Passeig de Gràcia, which ended at Plaça Urquinaona, in front of the Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona, protected by a cordon of the Mossos d’Esquadra. Along the route, firecrackers and flares were thrown, and shouts were heard against the president of the Generalitat, such as "Illa, you give us pocket money" and also against the Minister of the Presidency, such as "Dalmau, peace is over".
In fact, bike rides have been called for the city: one of the marches set off from Fabra i Puig, where a hundred bicycles gathered, started pedaling and blocked Avenida Meridiana entering Barcelona. Another march was planned to start from the Campana area, on Gran Via. The forecast is that the different bike rides will converge on Passeig de Gràcia around nine in the morning.
