Silicosis is resurfacing in Spain with 520 cases in 2024, almost 6,000 since 2007.

The Ministry of Health has confirmed a resurgence of silicosis in Spain, an incurable respiratory disease caused by the inhalation of crystalline silica. Between 2007 and 2024, 5,900 people were diagnosed with silicosis in Spain, 520 of whom were diagnosed in 2024.
