Recommendations and precautions during the total eclipse in the Valencian Country

Official observation points have been enabled and the Valencia City Council has published a ten-point guide to enjoy the experience safely

ValenciaThe wait has ended and the day of the solar eclipse, special for its total condition, has arrived. This will only be visible in a very narrow strip of the planet, where the demarcations of Castelló and València fall. In Alacant, the phenomenon will only be visible partially.

In total, in the Valencian Country, nine official points have been enabled to be able to see the eclipse safely: València, Utiel, Ares dels Oms, Castelló de la Plana, Peníscola, Onda and Benassal.

Decalogue to enjoy the eclipse safely

From the Valencia City Council, a decalogue has been shared to advise the population on how to view the eclipse safely to enjoy the experience.

View the eclipse from home, if possible.Otherwise, go to an official observation point.Always inform yourself through official channels.Plan the route and arrive in advance.Check traffic conditions.Leave the car at home and prioritize public transport.Use only approved glasses (ISO 12312-2:2015).Hydrate and protect yourself from the heat.Pay special attention to the elderly, dependent, and minors.Take care of the environment.Exit in an orderly manner once the phenomenon has ended.Follow the instructions of the security forces and health and municipal personnel.In case of emergency, call 112.Special device during the phenomenon

The superior police headquarters of the Valencian Country has designed a special security device for the solar eclipse that will take place from 5:00 PM onwards, mainly around the Valencian beach of Malva-rosa.

Its objective is to "guarantee normal and peaceful coexistence, the prevention of criminal acts, as well as providing permanent information to citizens by creating a safe environment".
