New crime in Catalonia: man arrested for stabbing another in Cubelles

BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating a new crime in Catalonia. A young man died stabbed this Thursday morning in Cubelles, in the Garraf region. The events took place around 11 a.m. near the town's cemetery. According to police sources, the Mossos have arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of the crime. The body was found lying on the sidewalk next to the cemetery car park.
Sources consulted by ARA suggest that the arrested man could be a homeless person. One of the police assumptions is that the aggressor and the victim lived together in a settlement in a wooded area of the municipality within the urban center, not far from where the stabbing took place. Therefore, the main hypothesis is that of an altercation between acquaintances. The Mossos are investigating whether there was a previous fight between the two, as the detainee would also have suffered some injuries. What they are clear about is that they knew each other because they lived precariously in very close areas.
The Mossos received a call from several witnesses alerting them that a person was seriously injured in the public street. Upon arriving at the scene, they found the young man's lifeless body with signs of violence. The judicial delegation authorized the removal of the body at approximately 2 p.m. An hour later, with the body already removed, cleaning services were working in the area while forensic police were still collecting evidence from the small wood surrounding the settlement.
