Macro-operation against drug and arms trafficking in Lleida and Seròs

BarcelonaThe Mossos d'Esquadra have deployed a device early this Tuesday morning in Lleida and Seròs, in El Segrià, to arrest members of a criminal network involved in the trafficking of marijuana and weapons. The operation involves nearly 200 officers and includes searches of properties and industrial buildings in both towns.

One of the locations where the operation is being deployed is the Mariola neighborhood of Lleida, where several searches have been carried out and at least one person has been arrested, as confirmed by the ACN. Furthermore, a marijuana plantation has been found in a basement and some weapons have been seized. Technicians from the electricity company are also present at the scene, as those involved in the network allegedly had their supply illegally tapped.

On a police level, the operation includes personnel from the Criminal Investigation Division, the BRIMO, the ARRO, the scientific police and the canine unit, as well as air support and members of the central command and the citizen security unit. The actions, which are under judicial secrecy, are being carried out in coordination with the Prosecutor's Office and with section 3 of the instruction division of the Court of Instance of Lleida.
