BarcelonaThe judge in Martorell has decided to reopen the investigation into the death of Mango owner Isak Andic in a hiking accident. Initially, the judge in charge of the investigating court number 5 in Martorell ordered the provisional filing of the case in mid-January because he saw no signs of crime. Now, as he has advanced The Newspaper and the ARA has been able to confirm, the case has been reopened. However, this does not mean that the main hypothesis of the Mossos d'Esquadra investigators has changed, which is that Andic had gone on an excursion with his eldest son, Jonathan Andic, to take a route through the saltpeter caves of Collbató, slipped on one of the paths and fell into the void for about 10 minutes.

According to sources consulted by the ARA, the Catalan police have thoroughly investigated the events, reconstructing them at the scene of the accident, and have sent more proceedings to the courts that would have led to this reopening. These are proceedings that take time to complete, and that were not included in the first report that the judge received and that served to archive the case. Judicial sources point out that when these new proceedings arrive, even if the case is archived, the judge must reopen it to provide new information to the case.

Sources from the Mossos, however, assure that these new proceedings are along the same lines: that Andic's death was accidental. This was the main hypothesis in the initial report sent by the Mossos to the courts, which together with the businessman's autopsy led the judge to order the provisional filing of the proceedings. The Mossos have continued to carry out proceedings, speaking with the businessman's entourage and also reconstructing the accident at the scene of the events. They have also reportedly analysed his mobile phone. However, they have been sending these new proceedings to the courts that are along the same lines as the first, and that point to the cause of death being accidental.
